Referral Process
Pupils must be referred to the school by Local Authority Commissioners and not directly by parents or carers. Referrals require a completed referral form with the pupil's most recent IEP, professional reports, and behavior plan if available.

Initial Assessment
After referral review, the school conducts an initial visit to the home or a mutually convenient venue, followed by a school visit that includes a tour, introduction to key staff, and discussion of school policies and procedures.

Commitment Requirement
Both the pupil and their parents/carers must express a commitment to the placement for the application to proceed successfully.

Two-Week Assessment Program
Once admitted, pupils engage in a 2-week intensive assessment program using diagnostic and personality assessments to determine academic levels, strengths, skills, prior knowledge, concerns, and aspirations, forming the benchmark for measuring progress.
