Guidelines on Elgibility

Eligibility for admission to The Damara School, operated by The Lotus Trust, is carefully considered to ensure the school can meet the specific needs of each pupil. The school caters to children and young people aged 5-15 who have a primary diagnosis of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. A key aspect of the admission process is that all referrals must come through Local Authority Commissioners, as the school does not accept direct applications from parents or carers.

Furthermore, a commitment to the placement from both the pupil and their parents/carers is essential, and the school must ensure that admitting a new pupil will not negatively impact the existing student body and that a suitable space is available in the relevant academic year group.

  • Pupils must be aged between 5 and 16 years.

  • A primary diagnosis of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties is required.

  • Referrals are exclusively accepted from Local Authority Commissioners.

  • Both the pupil and their parents/carers must demonstrate a commitment to the school placement.

Admission Requirements

  1. The pupil must be between 5 and 16 years old.

  2. Pupils must have a primary diagnosis of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH).
