Building Meaningful Connections in Thetford

At The Damara School, we believe that meaningful community engagement is essential to providing our students with a rich, relevant, and supportive educational experience. As a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provision, we recognize that connecting with the wider community not only enhances our students' learning but also helps them develop the confidence, social skills, and sense of belonging that are vital to their personal growth.

Our community engagement initiatives are carefully designed to create authentic opportunities for our students to interact with the world beyond our school gates, while also inviting the community to understand and support our unique educational approach. Through these connections, we aim to break down barriers, challenge misconceptions about SEMH needs, and create a more inclusive society for all our young people.

Looking Forward

As we continue to grow and develop as a school, community engagement will remain at the heart of our approach. We are committed to being an active, positive presence in Thetford, working collaboratively with our community to create the best possible outcomes for our students and contribute meaningfully to local life.

Through these connections, we not only enhance our students' educational experience but also help build a more inclusive, understanding, and supportive community for everyone.
